What are the requirements for foreigners to enter Vietnam?
Effective May 15th, 2022; Vietnam has removed the entry requirements, including quarantine and testing before and after arrival.
Currently, the requirement to enter Vietnam for travelers is:
- 1. Have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity beyond your planned trip duration in Vietnam.
- 2. Have a valid visa if required. Check with the Embassy of Vietnam of your country what type of Vietnam Visa you’d need.
Do I need insurance for Vietnam?
While travel insurance is not obligatory for traveling to Vietnam, we strongly advise travelers to consider acquiring an insurance plan to ensure their well-being during their stay.

Do I need a visa for Vietnam?
Passport holders of the following countries are eligible for visa exemption and stay in Vietnam for the indicated number of days.
Asia: Brunei, Myanmar (14 days), Japan, South Korea (15 days), The Philippines (21 days), Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand (30 days).
Europe (15 days): Belarus, Denmark, Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, The United Kingdom.
Vietnam has resumed operations for the E-visa website, where passport holders of 80 countries can apply for a tourist E-visa. There are 80 countries that can use the E-visa, which can be valid for up to 30 days with a single entry. E-visa application takes about 3 working days to process, at the cost of 25 USD. The code will be sent to the personal email to print.

What are the requirements to get a Vietnam Travel Visa?
The requirements to get a Vietnam Travel Visa depend on two main factors: your nationality and the type of visa you’re applying for (single-entry or multiple-entry).
General Requirement: a Valid Passport.
Your passport needs to be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Vietnam and have at least one blank visa page (excluding endorsement pages).
Additional Requirements Based on your Visa Type:
- Single-Entry Visa: Valid for one entry into Vietnam during its validity period (usually 30 days). Single-Entry Tourist Visa typically costs 25 USD to be issued.
- Multiple-Entry Visa (50 USD): Valid for multiple entries into Vietnam during its validity period to go out and in Vietnam freely (usually 90 days). This specific tourist visa issuance costs around 50 USD to be issued.
Overall Process to apply for e-Visa for Vietnam:
- 1. Visit the Official Vietnam e-Visa website.
- 2. Complete the online application form.
- 3. Upload your passport photo and data page.
- 4. Select your entry port and choose your preferred visa type (single or multiple entry).
- 5. Submit your application and pay the corresponding visa fee.
- 6. You’ll receive a registration code via email for tracking your application.
- 7. Once approved, download and print a copy of your e-visa for your records.
Important Tips:
- – Apply at least a week before your Vietnam departure for ample processing time.
- – Print multiple copies of your e-visa for convenience, especially in case you lose one.
- – Carefully review all information entered during the application to avoid delays due to errors.
Is there a mandatory quarantine when I enter Vietnam?
Since May 2022, inbound travelers are no longer required to undergo quarantine.
While there are no quarantine requirements, they are required to monitor their own health during the first 10 days of their trip. If they present any COVID-19 symptoms, they must notify local authorities in Vietnam.
