While travel insurance is not obligatory for Mongolia, having it is advisable. The cost of medical treatment in Mongolia can be significant, and international visitors may not be covered by the country’s public healthcare system. Travel insurance can provide coverage for medical expenses, as well as other unforeseen costs such as trip cancellation or interruption, lost baggage, and emergency transportation.
The price of travel insurance for Mongolia may vary depending on factors such as the duration of your trip, the extent of coverage chosen, and your departure location. Travel insurance plans for Mongolia can start at just a few USD per day.
Depending on your nationality, some travelers may need a visa to enter Mongolia. For certain nationalities, visas can be obtained upon arrival at the airport. Due to the ever-changing nature of visa regulations, it is crucial to verify the current requirements with the embassy in your respective country before traveling to Mongolia.
